that is the case for US, if you are in china, that does not matter.
I know some insurance comapny they charge higher for red cars. and some only charge higher for sports red cars. You can check with your agent to get further information. If you are just buying a sedan, red color might be ok, but you are buying a sports car, red color will definitely be more expensive in insurance.
and by the way, red colors can easily attract police officers' attention. I heard a lot of complaint about it.
