(I am not sure whether board I should go to, so I just ask here)

I helped my roomate (new student) to buy a dell desktop and the rebate was $100. He filled out the form and everything. But when I received the rebate check, the value is $200. Has anybody had this experience? Is it for a double rebate, or something like that? Can I deposit the check straight?

My roomate is simply happy with this, and said there is usually no value indicated on the Dell rebate claim form, and you get what Dell sent to u. The value you are qualified depends on the machine you get. Is this true?

I am just concerned whether if I am supposed to get $100, and I depositd this $200, it would be a cheating.
