蓝妹妹, 知道你买的是townhouse.你说说经验把. 我也是决的location很重要. 现在听大家一说也更坚定了. 你买的地方是最好的区吗? 我这个是3 bed room 的townhouse, 2 车库, 3 stories. 1700sqt.属于中等区.我查了一下学区, 决的还可以的感觉. 然后这里70%是白领, house income是75000左右. 由于街的对面就是最好的区,所以整个大环境很好, 在山上, 附近就是一个wood park, 然后开下山 5 min到上班的地方, 也是华人活动的中心, 买菜,吃饭什么的. 你买的townhouse 回不回担心以后卖不出去,拖不了手? townhouse 的价位已经很高,在涨就难了

In georgia, townhouse does not appreciate as strong as sfh, but it still depends on the location. Townhouses very near downtown atlanta (or even farther, but inside the perimeter) are more expensive than some sfh >30miles away from downtown...

Townhouses in California must have stronger/hotter market than other states, so, a good subdivision (location) is very important.

hehe if I could ever afford a single family home here of course I wouldn't even think of townhouse/condo... A shabby single family home here in so-so area will cost more than 600K. I saw a single family home yesterday in close-by area: 887 sf living area, 5500 sf lot, 55 years old, 3 bedroom (very small) and only 1 bathroom... No landscaping whatsoever, and it was priced 512K. I would rather buy a livable townhouse/condo than a single family home like this in Northern Cal. I also saw some 1800sf townhouse in the same area --they are NOT new at all (about 20-30 years old), but costs 599K. Man... i could never afford a livable single family home here :((

I remember 3 years ago, a brand-new 2400 sf single family home in a really bad area (lots of crimes and bad people) even costs 550K...

I am against the saying that townhouses in a good area cannot appreciate more... that's so not true. The area you described sounds decent. If you are hesitating you can wait for another 2 years... Just don't make the purchase until you are totally satisfied. It'd be the biggest purchase in your life and you don't have chance to regret.
