Garfield is forced to compete with a dog named Odie for the affection and attention of their perpetually single owner, Jon Arbuckle, when Odie is introduced to their home--much to Garfield's disgust. However, when Odie is kidnapped by a mean dog trainer, Garfield feels responsible, so he gets off his favorite spot and gets into action to rescue his fellow pet in crisis.
