Amendment XIV
Section 1.All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
Section 2.Representatives shall be apportioned among the several states according to their respective numbers, counting the whole number of persons in each state, excluding Indians not taxed. But when the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice President of the United States, Representatives in Congress, the executive and judicial officers of a state, or the members of the legislature thereof, is denied to any of the [url=https://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/amendmentxix]male[/url] inhabitants of such state, [url=https://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/amendmentxxvi]being twenty-one years of age[/url], and citizens of the United States, or in any way abridged, except for participation in rebellion, or other crime, the basis of representation therein shall be reduced in the proportion which the number of such male citizens shall bear to the whole number of male citizens twenty-one years of age in such state.
Section 3.No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any state, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any state legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any state, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.
Section 4.The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. But neither the United States nor any state shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void.
Section 5.The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.

"The phrase "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" was intended to exclude American-born persons from automatic citizenship whose allegiance to the United States was not complete. With illegal aliens who are unlawfully in the United States, their native country has a claim of allegiance on the child. Thus, the completeness of their allegiance to the United States is impaired, which therefore precludes automatic citizenship. " 那意思是说subject to the jurisdiction thereof限制了落地国籍的定义，因为非法移民的娃不具备对美国效忠的目的，所以不能自动算为美国公民，同理旅游生娃。

就是说这些人非法在美国，生了的孩子自动取得墨西哥国籍，所以不适用这条？这条只适用于生下来没有国籍的，例如以前做奴隶的黑人的孩子？这条法律怎么解释如果要闹的话，估计要闹到高院

Court不应该管，而是由Congress最后决定如何行使这条，见14条的section 5
这条我听说除了针对美国生的奴隶的孩子，可以使他们具有国籍，还当作双面剑针对印第安人的，因为他们有他们的保护区，所以不具有对美国的allegiance，所以不算美国人，不过直到后来，才承认他们也具有美国国籍了

都说华裔是摇摆选民，除了本身么不太关心政治以外，我个人觉得可能不少华裔和两党各自的主要立场重合度都不高也是很重要的原因，选哪个好像都不太令人满意。话说上次大选我也做了那个测试，结果说我和一个非主流女性竞选人立场最契合，那位女士讲真我都没怎么在媒体上见过。。这次说我一个蛮热门的候选人立场最契合，对于回归主流，我表示很开心。。。

The United States hold jurisdiction over all people that are on US soil, whether they entered into the U.S. legally or not. This is the concept of "jus soli". If you believe the U.S. doesn't have jurisdiction over people who entered the country illegally, then you are saying the judicial system does not have standing in all matters regarding the illegal aliens.
