Existing law requires any state agency, board, or commission thatdirectly or by contract collects demographic data as to the ancestryor ethnic origin of Californians to use separate collectioncategories and tabulations for specified Asian groups and PacificIslander groups, and requires a state agency, board, or commission toinclude data on specified collection categories and tabulations inevery demographic report on ancestry or ethnic origins of Californiaresidents that it publishes or releases.
The bill would require, on or afterJuly 1, 2017, the State Department of Public Health, the StateDepartment of Health care Services, the Board of Governors of theCalifornia Community Colleges, the Trustees of the California StateUniversity, and the Regents of the University of California to usethe additional separate collection categories and other tabulationsfor specified Asian groups and Pacific Islander groups, and to takeadditional actions as specified above, under certain circumstances.The bill would not apply its categorization requirements todemographic data of graduate and professional schools of theUniversity of California. The bill would be applicable to theUniversity of California only if the Regents of the University ofCalifornia, by resolution, make it applicable. To the extent the bill would impose additional requirements oncommunity colleges, the bill would impose a state-mandated localprogram

貌似是2017年7月以后，让所有的state有关的机构，包括学校，在采集人口信息的时候都细分亚裔，就是不能统一选择asian这个分类，而是问清楚到底是哪个类别。然后加州州立大学如果同意把人口信息纳入录取考量的话，估计就会对某些区域的亚洲人特别考虑？

感觉是针对中国裔 和印度裔的。。。
加州政府估计想控制这两国人在加州大学的录取数量。
太过分了，总共亚裔占美国的比例不到6%，居然这么细分控制。
加州华人印度人真的要联合反对啊！

ethnicity 跟 nationality 是两码事
