IMHO, send him an email to show your tremendous interest and will be dedicated a lot to the job if you were to be given an opportunity. Keep the spirit a bit low, don't tell him such things like 'give me the job'. You can't seem very desperated to get it... it can help sometimes if you tell them you already got another offer and wanna hear from them soon. But... don't lie about it.
