周围邻居的房子９０％都重建了豪宅。今天收到村里的信说我家的property tax降了。大家知道怎么回事吗？邻居多交税，别人就可以少交税了是吗？

That's so good. But usually decreasing house value cause the decreasing property tax.

we purchased our home recently. The town knew our purchase price and its assessed value is even lower than our purchase price and lower than its assessed value last year.... But the town has also experienced a rebuild boom. Many multi-million new homes were recently built.

is it just the state you live in or nationwide? how large is the change ?

I don't know if it is state-wide or nation-wide. Our property tax was dropped by a few thousand dollars.
