He has even been called "not a muslim" written in a fatwa by an Imam from Bradford because he is pro gay marriage. He is a muslim, but he is really socially progressive and a former activist for human rights. Stressing his religious background without mentioning his very liberal stance on cannabis and gay marriage is just stupid right-wing fear mongering, click-baiting or both. If anything is scandalous it is that he is too progressive for some muslims and Imams that they try and deny him any right to identify as a muslim.
