I'm one of those liberals who are against affirmative actions. Make no mistake I think the current approach is a bandaid at best and will inevitably hurt minorities in the long run. I think many liberals actually share my view on this issue. Take a look at Justice Kennedy's dissent. Honestly I think there's no telling how the future SCOTUS will vote on this issue whether the court will be liberal leaning or conservative leaning. I Think we the Asians should be very loud mouthed about it: sue, fight, talk, debate, to force others to reevaluate the issue. I'd love to see an Asian Fisher who has the audacity to sue the crap out of the unjust system. I just merely threw some alternative views as a fruit for thought. :)

For #1: I think Clinton is in support of a immigration reform that involves heightened boarder security and a path to citizenship , but not a blanket insurance of work permits. Correct me if I'm wrong. For # 2: a couple things: the U.S. is a signer of the Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees, so in other words, we're obliged to consider asylum for refugees. Anyone who says we the US will categorically deny refugees is just wistful. About the funding, we spent 1.7 trillion on war in Iraq, compared to an estimated 1.6 billion spending on bringing additional 10k refugees. Yeah so we'd definitely have the money if we are not that war hawkish. That's one of the reasons that I'm not going to vote for Clinton because her war records.
