总是还有华女大妈manager被印度下属舔的舒服,巴不得把他们从海德拉巴搬过来。

Bloated middle upper management, Lack of diversity

https://www.thelayoff.com/t/1rxHmmhQ

360 reviews of managers by associates are not a thing here. Incompetent middle and higher management doing not much actual things but collecting info/orders from below/above and passing them up/down, which they call 'strategizing' : )

Severe lack of diversity in tech teams. Decades of outsourcing caused (1) Reverse colonization and dominance of one and only one people/culture. Go to any cafeteria and look around you know what I mean. (2) The a-s-kissing and inhumanely “hard-working” culture of the people sustains the ignorant and incompetent middle higher management, and in many cases develops an addictive dependency of the later on the former. (3) The national cronyism [even though I despise your caste but I hire you because you’re my people] of this people brings in more and more of their [incompetent, bogusly educated] people. Bright young US educated talents are forced to leave for lack of upward mobility. (4) The Jugaad-ism (jugaar) of the said people cause visibly deterioration of systems, architecture and code quality. Experienced talents leave. (5) Fidelity got a street reputation of 99% H1-B. One hundred sixty five candidates for an opening attracted zero non-H1b candidates. (6) go back to (1), rinse and repeat.

For banks in the US, it's the same thing with their tech teams - around 70% - 80% are Indian, and some are 100%.

Indian only hire Indian. They are very racism. If they interview a non Indian candidate, they ask very difficult questions. For Indian candidates, they just do regular talk.

y'all are a bunch of xenophobes and racists. Instead of blaming greedy rich people, y'all blame brown people looking to better their lives and their family's lives. I hope y'all get your citizenship revoked.

Thank you for saying the quiet part out loud! Good luck Fidelity, you might want to start thinking about selling off parts of the firm before you nose dive to nothing. Watch your 401(k)s people, transfer it the minute you leave. They started this war of employees vs. the firm. Fidelity is nothing without us, they seem to forget that. Buckle up, get your résumé out there and diversify! We the people will win!

A decade or two ago, Americans refused to learn and do the 'nerdy' tech job. Well we outsource to the people who are willing to do anything for a living.

Now my kid couldn't even get into the computer science program because it's so much in demand. Local talents abundant. They still outsource, for lower cost.

Tomorrow, when locally educated workforce can't find job, they'll cry. It'll become a political problem.

Yes, as one of the commenters noted, it's not only Fidelity. It's an industry problem.

So true. It the same in Ireland. When u walk in the office you would think you have walked in Mumbai supermarket.

There is also a lot of fear being installed. We were told by our head in Ireland not to be the source of gossip for these layoffs. In other words, dont talk about it. Sigh!

All of tech is idli dosa only. Not a single person outside south India, forget rest of the world, they don’t even have any from any other part of India.

I agree 360s are lacking. 360s should be a part of leader performance. I suspect we would have a lot of different leaders if we did have them.

Our talent is not where it should be but we also pay tech poorly relative to the industry. On lack of diversity, how about you objectively look at other companies diversity in tech and then compare it to Fidelity's and then post back? I'm not sure Fidelity is much different.
