雇自己父母是不付employer tax的, 这样他们还能积累social security 点数吗？要不你说的福利跟social security 不挂钩？

Either you set up a business and issue W-2 to your parents, then you pay the employer part of the payroll taxes, or you pay your parents on 1099, your parents have to pay self-employed payroll tax both for employer and employee. Otherwise, I don't see how accrue social security benefits without paying social security and medicare taxes.

Yes, I was under the impression that either we or parents have to have some biz-related tax structure set up, in order to pay social security and medicare taxes. Maybe people can pay them even though there are no requirements, but these taxes are not cheap.

很多国内北上广深知识分子家庭，父母受过高等教育，环游过世界见过不少世面，家里二环三环有车有房，一门心思拿到美国绿卡然后还不如老国营企业的退休工人有勇气重新开始，就立刻丧失工作生活自理能力，投入到如何最大化地拿免费福利的研究之中。也确实不值得尊重。

呵呵不做道德评判了，身体健康保重就好。

楼主发这么个贴对大家是很好的启发。

其实每个人的福寿禄都是固定的，一味偷税漏税占便宜大多数时候并不能保障优渥的将来。。。我看过好些个例子。（当然一个人即使表面合法，也不见得发心纯正)_
总之，多一点无私就当为自己累积阴德
