上课的时候,老师讲了句话,在场的人都表示这句话不懂。老师就解释了下意思。但是我自己看句子还是不懂,就是结构上不懂。多谢
many, if not alll, of the personality traits which we have called masculine or feminine are as lightly linked to sex as are the clothing, the manners, and the form of headdress that a society at any given period assigns to either sex.
Margaret Mead
另外还有句话:
the biological differences between the sexes whic exist serve only as loose boundaries within which culturally learned differences appear.
这句话是个很复杂的句子,想知道谁修饰谁。有几个从句。
版上的都是能人,我英语实在不好,万分感谢,

(which we have called masculine or feminine)修饰(many, if not alll, of the personality traits )
(that a society at any given period assigns to either sex)修饰(the clothing, the manners, and the form of headdress ).
The whole sentence means Just like the clothing....headdress (that...) are lightly linked to sex, many masculine or feminine personality traits are also lightly linked to sex.
Margaret Mead believed that sex(gender) differences were not built in, but a product of certain culture and society. Women wear dresses and men don't is a learned behavior and assigned role stereotype/custom by particular culture and period of time, and it should has nothing to do with biological sex. Likewise, biological sex should not determine whether a person's personality is masculine or feminine.
另外还有句话:
the biological differences between the sexes which exist serve only as loose boundaries within which culturally learned differences appear.
2从句。
(which exist)修饰(the biological differences between the sexes). (within which culturally learned differences appear) 修饰 (loose boundaries).
