One of the principle concepts of training and building a tone
body is overload and adaptation. You can challenge your body in
many ways; by increasing the amount of weight lifted, by
increasing speed or the amount of time spent on cardiovascular
activities, or by working new muscle groups. When you do these
things your body adapts to rise to the physical challenge. This
leads to increased strength or endurance. But because the body
adapts to changes in your routine, your fitness level can plateau
over time. Given this, you should change your workout regime
regularly to be sure that you are challenging your body. By
giving your body new "overloads" it will lead to new adaptations
and a toner, fitter you.
